Fr. Greg Shaffer is grateful to Almighty God to be the pastor of Our Lady of the Visitation Church. He grew up in Bethesda, where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes parish and school. He graduated from Gonzaga College High School in 1989 and the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Communication) in 1994. He spent a total of six years at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary (Md.) and worked as a sales manager during his two leaves of absence from the seminary. In 2006, he was among twelve men who were ordained priests for the Archdiocese of Washington. Since then, Fr. Greg has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Andrew Apostle in Silver Spring, Chaplain at the George Washington University Newman Center, and Pastor of Assumption Church in Washington, D.C. He rejoices in the good, faithful, and joyful parishioners of Visitation, and is excited to lead these beautiful people in their walk with Christ.
